The Family Resource Team is a small team of support workers.

We work 52 weeks a year and are based at the school.   We aim to help and support parents/ carers and young people either directly or to sign post on to further agencies.

When a child first comes to High Close School, one of the team will arrange to visit the parent/ carer at their home to gather information that will help support the child at school.   We will draw up an Initial Assessment with the information you provide to share with the staff at school who work closely with your child ( once we have shared the report with you and you are in agreement the information is correct.)

Other services we offer include;

  • Supporting parents carers with information or advice including Housing, Behaviour management, Referrals to other agencies for support, Benefits applications and at meeting

  • We offer Group work sessions and Workshops for Parents including Re Autism (Cygnet Parenting Group), Online Safety, Substance Misuse and Anxiety and self harm.

  • There are online safety briefings available on this website to help you understand the risks, how to take action to protect your family and who to report concerns to while your young person is online.

  • Group work or Individual sessions with young people on Keeping Safe, Substance misuse and Online safety
