Acacia Provision

Acacia is a provision to support young people who experience Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA).

The provision is focused on meeting the needs of young people who have experienced EBSA and providing a supportive educational environment that will re-engage young people into being able to access education.  

The provision is run by a team of experienced care and education staff who have worked with young people who have experienced EBSA as well as working with young people with SEND with a trauma informed approach

Acacia provision

  • Provide small homely setting for up to 6 young people to support a reintroduction to education that takes into account the young persons sensory needs 

  • Have high ratios of staff to provide support to engage in education 

  • Provide core learning of English and Maths, topic led learning and a comprehensive Independence programme 

  • Provide support in emotional regulation, emotional literacy, coping strategies and tools to reduce anxiety 

  • Bespoke integration plan to enable young people to feel successful 

  • Meet EHCP outcomes and enable young people to make progress
